How can you change a car wheel without tools
Changing a Car Wheel with Household Products
- Prepare Your Car:
- Park on a flat, stable surface away from traffic.
- Engage the parking brake.
- Place heavy objects in front of and behind the opposite tires to prevent rolling.
- Loosen the Lug Nuts:
- Use a spanner that fits the lug nuts. Alternatively, a pipe wrench can be used, though it may damage the nuts.
- Turn the lug nuts counterclockwise just enough to break their resistance. Do not remove them completely yet.
- Lift the Car:
- Drive the car onto a sturdy, stable ramp if a jack is not available.
- Ensure the car is stable before proceeding.
- Remove the Wheel:
- Fully unscrew the lug nuts and keep them in a safe place.
- Gently remove the wheel.
- Replace the Wheel:
- Lift the spare wheel and align it with the wheel bolts.
- Screw the lug nuts back on by hand as tight as you can.
- Lower the Car and Tighten Nuts:
- Carefully drive off the ramp.
- Use the spanner to tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern.
